NCAA announces March Madness play-in sites for 2027 and 2028

On Wednesday, the NCAA prepared the brackets for March Madness 2027 and 2028, announcing all play-in spots for the 2 NCAA tournaments.

We’ll start with the 2027 NCAA Tournament. After the First Four tournaments in Dayton, Ohio, which have become a staple of the tournament over the years, first- and second-round games will be played in Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Minneapolis, Omaha, Nebraska, Louisville, Fort Worth, Texas, Sacramento and Spokane, Washington.

Regional locations in 2027 will be New York (East), Kansas City (Midwest), San Antonio (South) and Los Angeles (West).

For the 2028 NCAA Tournament, the action will once again begin with the First Four in Dayton, Ohio. The 1st and 2nd place games will then be played in Brooklyn, Orlando. Columbus, Ohio, Des Moines, Iowa, Birmingham, Alabama, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Salt Lake City and Seattle.

This will lead to 4 regional locations, which will be held in Raleigh, North Carolina (Eastern Region), Detroit (Midwest), Dallas (South), and San Francisco (West Region).

Of course, Wednesday’s announcement did not include the locations of the Final Four in 2027 and 2028. They have already been announced – Detroit will host the Final Four in 2027 and Las Vegas will host the event in 2028. This will be the first time in Las Vegas’ history that The Final Four will take place, providing an elegant setting for a traditional event.
