FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A popular northeast Fresno restaurant has closed permanently after 12 years, according to its owners.

The closure had not been announced in advance. The restaurant confirmed on social media that Sunday, September 30 was its last day of operation.

“We understand that our valued customers and artists will be surprised by the unexpected nature of this closure. There is never a good time to say goodbye (for many private reasons), so we decided to close the company quickly and quietly.”

In a final message published by Starving Artists Bistro, the restaurant said it had struggled and rallied during the Covid-19 pandemic, but since then “rules, regulations and laws imposed on the restaurant industry” and “inflation and ongoing food and staff shortages” had forced the company until closing.

“We simply cannot maintain the quality of food and service that our customers rightly expect.”
