NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – If you need help paying your utility bills or rent, the Metro Action Commission (MAC) is now accepting applications for the Utility Assistance Program.

You can get help with electricity, natural gas, water, rent and mortgage payments. MAC said the financing also covers the costs of medicines, property taxes, rent and utility deposits.

Support ranges from $600 to $1,000, depending on energy burden and household size. According to MAC, you are eligible for a maximum of one month of assistance for rental and mortgage assistance.

To qualify, you must meet certain qualifications. You must be income eligible, live in Davidson County and meet other eligibility criteria.

Applications can be found on the Metro Action Commission website or you can call the agency’s call center at 615-862-8860.

Applications can also be submitted by visiting the MAC headquarters at 1281 Murfreesboro Pike.

The aid program runs from October 1, 2024 to September 2025.

MAC says it distributes more than $7 million annually to approximately 10,000 Davidson County residents to cover utility costs.
