Jets in the top 15 in the NFL Power rankings for Week 5

Jets in the top 15 in the NFL Power rankings for Week 5

Below is a breakdown of the NFL power rankings. The views expressed are not representative of any Jets personnel.

Yahoo – 14
“Sure, the weather was bad. But it was an ugly game that revealed some things about the Jets.”

NFL.com – 15th
“Aaron Rodgers’ sack on the first play of Sunday’s game set the tone. Garrett Wilson then lost a foul on the third offensive snap of the game. The Jets had three penalties on their own 5-yard line in the second quarter of the Drive. Breece Hall went scoreless on its third possession. On the next two possessions, they received false start penalties on third-and-3 and fourth-and-goal (from the New York Broncos 1-yard line), which could have reduced the 2023 offense to This kind of exertion on a rainy, gloomy day. This spoiled a great defense that allowed Denver only one pass of more than 41 yards. Amazingly, the Jets had a chance to win, but their final three drives fell short, with Greg Zuerlein missing a single in the final minute. Every time we think they’re making more progress, the Jets take a step back.

ESPN – 16
“Only one interception. The Jets have an efficient pass rush (14 sacks) and play good pass defense, so they should have more than one pick. The only player to make an interception is Nickelback backup Brandin Echols, who played in an injury substitution in Week 2. None of the regulars have had an interception, including All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner, whose drought stretches to 28 games. All of this is dizzying because the Jets should be in perfect position for steals as a zone-overloaded team.”

FOX Sport – 17th place
“I think the Jets are a better team overall than this one, but it certainly didn’t look that way in Week 4. I have no choice but to kick you out if you fail to score a home run against a team led by a rookie QB is the type of failure that haunts you all season long.

Bleacher Report – 17
“Last week’s impressive win over the New England Patriots looked like something of a springboard for the New York Jets. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers looked great. Gang Green was on their way, and next up was a mediocre (at best) Denver Broncos team. Well. as it turned out, the Week 3 win didn’t turn the Jets into a puddle of rain. The weather was truly terrible in Sunday’s one-point loss to the Broncos – neither team had even 250 yards of offense, but despite the inclement weather, Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers made no excuses for his play in Week 4.”

Talk about football – 17
“The Jets won’t compete if Aaron Rodgers keeps bouncing between MVP and AARP.”

CBS Sport – 18th place
“Losing to the Broncos looks bad. So much for the idea that the offense came to life.”

USA Today – 19
“Perhaps a trip to London and offering to pay LB Haason Reddick in pounds would end his contract dispute? Or maybe a trip to London means, um, better weather after rain in New Jersey proved capable of grounding the Jets offense? Or as QB Aaron Rodgers claims he said, “The weather sucked, but some of my throws sucked, too.”

Illustrated sports – 21
“I had been covering football in New York long enough to sense the beginning of the swirling drama. While I wouldn’t exactly put the Giants and Jets there, Sunday’s game against Denver was a huge unforced error. We also won’t soon forget how Aaron Rodgers responded to the claim that the Jets should change their approach on the field, or how the head coach later clarified his comments. This team cannot walk on eggshells and succeed.

Athlete – 24
“First-round tackle Olu Fashanu made his first start on Sunday. Third-round receiver Malachi Corley was a disappointment (one catch, 4 yards), but fourth-round running back Braelon Allen performed well enough (27 carries, 130 yards) that Robert Saleh had to defend himself, keeping him from carrying the lead on Sunday goal line. As for the old quarterback, quarterback Aaron Rodgers doesn’t seem happy. “When your defense holds them to 10, you have to win the game 100 percent of the time,” he said Sunday.
