“It is now worth over $3 trillion!” – Shannon Sharpe could have become a billionaire, but she wasted the opportunity to invest $300,000. dollars into a trillion-dollar company

“It is now worth over trillion!” – Shannon Sharpe could have become a billionaire, but she wasted the opportunity to invest 0,000. dollars into a trillion-dollar company

Shannon Sharpe has done a lot of good things in his career.

He is an NFL Hall of Famer who won three Super Bowls with the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens and has an estimated net worth of $14 million.

But he could have been worth a lot more if he had trusted his instincts and invested in Google many years ago.

Sharpe recently spoke with billionaire and former Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban on his Club Shay Shay podcast.

The two talked about various topics, including business, and at one point Shannon revealed his costly mistake.

“I remember when Google came out and they thought the stock would be around $85 a share,” he said.

“I remember telling my financiers, ‘You know what, I just signed with the Ravens, I’ve got some money, man, I’d like to buy $300,000 worth of Google stock.’

“Well, the price starts at $115 (per share), and my guy says, ‘That’s too expensive!’

“That’s a b***h!”

Cuban and Sharpe burst into laughter when the former Shark Tank investor joked that he wasn’t the only one who had made this mistake.

“It (Google) is now worth over $3 trillion,” Cuban pointed out to a devastated Sharpe.

“3 trillion dollars!” he repeated, and Sharpe shook his head.

“With you I would be a billionaire!” Sharpe shouted.

“You fucked up,” Cuban joked.

Sharpe agreed, saying, “Yeah, I screwed up bad!”

“I had the money to do it, but I let someone talk me out of it.”

Although he may regret his decision one day, 56-year-old Sharpe has done more than well in his life.

During his career, he was selected to eight Pro Bowls and four first-team All-Pros and is widely considered one of the greatest players in NFL history.

He eventually retired and moved into sports media, where he rose to fame on Fox Sports 1’s Undisputed with Skip Bayless, which he co-hosted from 2016-2023.

Sharpe left the show last year and moved to ESPN, where he regularly appears on First Take with Stephen A. Smith.

He also has his own podcast empire under his own media company, Shay Shay media.

‘Unc’ hosts his own podcast, Club Shay Shay, which is currently part of Colin Cowherd’s The Volume and is hugely popular.

Sharpe also co-hosts the Nightcap podcast with former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson.

In turn, Cuban co-founded the video portal Broadcast.com in 1995, which sold it to Yahoo in 1999 for $5.7 billion.

In 2022, Cuban also introduced Cost Plus drugs to lower prescription drug prices.

In 2011, the billionaire businessman joined the popular reality show “Shark Tank” for its second season.

He announced his decision to leave the show last year, but his net worth is still estimated at $5.4 billion, according to Forbes.

The 66-year-old has been closely associated with the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks since January 2000 and remains an integral part of its day-to-day operations.

Cuban initially paid $285 million to acquire the Mavericks. However, he is no longer the majority owner after selling 73 percent of the franchise to Miriam Adelson for $3.5 billion in late 2023.

That means he earned about 12 times what he initially paid the team almost 25 years ago.

Despite selling most of the team, Cuban still serves as Dallas’ lieutenant governor.

The 65-year-old retains a 27% stake in the franchise and still controls basketball operations.

Most importantly, however, he is no longer the Mavericks’ president of basketball operations – that would be Nico Harrison.

However, Cuban still holds a lot of power with the Mavs and is still at the center of many of the team’s decisions.

At the time of the sale, Cuban revealed that he sold his majority stake to a family with ties to the hotel and casino industry because he sees future benefits from owning NBA real estate.

“The advantage is what you can build and where, and you have to have someone who is really good at it,” Cuban said. “Patrick and Miriam are the best in the world at what they do. Literally all over the world.

“When you get a world-class partner that can come in and grow your revenue base and you’re not dependent on what you’ve had in the past, that’s a huge win.”
