How to watch men’s and women’s college ice hockey in 2024-2025 on ESPN+

As the college hockey seasons approach, ESPN and ESPN+ will air more than 800 games in 2024-2025, culminating in the men’s and women’s national championship games.

The 2025 men’s Frozen Four competition will take place on April 10 and 12 in St. Louis. Denver, which defeated Boston College in April to win its record 10th national championship, looks to defend its title. ESPN’s coverage will include every game of the NCAA Tournament.

The 2025 Women’s Frozen Four will be held on March 21 and 23 in Minneapolis, with Ohio State being the reigning national champion.

Hundreds of games broadcast on ESPN+ starting in October will feature teams from Hockey East and ECAC, as well as non-conference and conference games.

BANDS TO WATCH

Denver enters the season as the No. 1 team in USCHO.com’s men’s preseason poll, along with Boston College, last year’s national runner-up, at No. 2 in the rankings, and Boston University, also a 2024 “Frozen” contestant, are ranked 2nd place. 3. BC and BU are the top two teams in the Hockey East men’s preseason poll, followed by Maine, Providence and UMass.

Two ECAC teams are in the top 10 of the preseason rankings: Quinnipiac (No. 8) and Cornell (No. 9). Both the Bobcats and Big Red advanced to the regional finals of last year’s NCAA Tournament. Cornell was ahead of the defending league champion in the ECAC preseason coaches poll, followed by Dartmouth, Clarkson and Colgate.

On the women’s side, Midwestern teams top the USCHO.com preseason national poll, with Wisconsin in first place, followed by Minnesota, Minnesota Duluth and Ohio State. ECAC takes the next four spots, with Clarkson at No. 5, followed by Cornell, Colgate and St. Lawrence. UConn of Hockey East is ranked 9th and Quinnipiac of the ECAC is ranked 10th.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Boston College features a pair of top-rated players selected in the first round of the NHL Draft, including Ryan Leonard (Capitals) and Gabe Perreault (Rangers), two of the top returning scorers in Hockey East. The Eagles also have a third-round pick of Jacob Fowler (Canadiens), who was Hockey East’s goaltender of the year last year, and add first-round rookie Dean Letourneau (Bruins).

Boston University selects Tom Willander (Canucks) in the first round and adds two highly regarded freshmen in Cole Eiserman (first round, Islanders) and Cole Hutson (second round, Capitals).

Other top NHL draftees in Hockey East and ECAC include Providence freshman Trevor Connelly (first round, Golden Knights), Northeastern junior Cam Lund (second round, Sharks), UMass sophomore Aydar Suniev (third round, Flames) , Harvard sophomore Ben MacDonald (third round, Kraken) and Clarkson senior Ayrton Martino (third round, Stars).

The most returning players in the women’s ECAC include Colgate goaltender Hannah Murphy, who had 15 sacks last season, Clarkson defenders Haley Winn and Nicole Gosling, and forwards Abby Hustler of St. Lawrence and Lily Delianedis of Cornell.
