Colts vs. Jaguars Predictions, Odds, Spread, Injuries, NFL Trends Week 5 (Indy upset?)

Colts vs. Jaguars Predictions, Odds, Spread, Injuries, NFL Trends Week 5 (Indy upset?)

The Indianapolis Colts want to cross the .500 mark in the season in week five, but they are underdogs in their away game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jaguars have yet to win in the 2024 season and have really struggled on both ends of the court, scoring more points than the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins in four weeks.

Indy has some injury concerns for this game as Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and Anthony Richardson (oblique/abdominal) were injured in Week 4. If they don’t play, the Colts will struggle, but Joe Flacco was a great replacement for Richardson against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Here’s a breakdown of the latest odds, betting trends, players to watch, and my predictions for the Week 5 clash.

Indianapolis Colts

Michael Pittman Jr.: Did Joe Flacco start Michael Pittman Jr.’s outburst? In week four, the star player recorded a season-high six receptions for 113 yards. If Flacco starts, he’ll be a great prop target on Sunday.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Trevor Lawrence: It’s been a terrible season for Lawrence, who is completing just 53.3 percent of his passes through four games and has a 4-1 TD-INT ratio. The Jaguars’ offense has scored the third-fewest points in the NFL through four weeks.

The Colts are my upset pick of the week, and I think they’re a great bet to cover – regardless of who is under center in Week 5.

Things have gotten worse in Jacksonville, as Doug Pederson’s group is 0-4 on the season and showing no signs of life on either side of the ball.

The Jaguars rank 29th in the NFL in yards per play allowed on defense and have 10th in yards per play on offense in 2024.

They are now favored at home against the Indianapolis Colts 2-2, who looked really solid with Joe Flacco at center in Week 4 after Anthony Richardson was injured.

If Flacco starts, I think the Colts’ passing game will step up against the Jaguars, who have given up 1,091 yards this season, second-most in the NFL.

Until the Jags prove they can play winning football – and they haven’t done that at all in 2024 – there’s no way I’m going to award them points.

Pick: Colts +2.5 (+100)
