The former Texas star will find the end zone in Week 4

Another week has passed in the NFL and there have been many former Texas Longhorns players who have helped their teams both offensively and defensively.

Two former Texas players scored touchdowns this week. Xavier Worthy, who hadn’t scored a touchdown since his Week 1 game against the Baltimore Ravens, threw a spectacular 54-yard reception for the Kansas City Chiefs in a 17-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes made a perfect pass into the hands of Worthy, who outran the Chargers defensive back and caught the ball over his shoulder in the end zone.

Chicago Bears running back Roshan Johnson also scored, finding the end zone for his first touchdown of the season on a three-yard rush up the middle in the Bears’ 24-18 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

On the sidelines of the Bears-Rams game, Jordan Whittington continued his solid rookie year by recording 62 yards while also having six receptions and targets. It was the best performance of his career for the Texas fan favorite.

Bijan Robinson played a quiet match compared to some of his former teammates. Although he didn’t reach the end zone in the Atlanta Falcons’ 26-24 victory over the New Orleans Saints, he still contributed with 28 yards on seven attempts on the ground and 46 yards on four receptions.

Elsewhere, Los Angeles kicker Cameron Dicker scored a 50-yard field goal in a loss to the Chiefs.

Denver Broncos guard Brandon Jones got his second sack in as many weeks after forcing a foul on the first play of the game between the New York Jets. The Broncos won 10-9.

Another former Longhorn from the Broncos’ secondary also had a productive game, as PJ Locke played a pivotal role in holding the Jets to just nine points. He led the team in tackles with 10 and also helped the team by sacking Aaron Rodgers.

Pittsburgh Steelers guard DeShon Elliott also led his team in receiving, scoring 12 points in the Steelers’ 27-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

The Seattle Seahawks were without Byron Murphy in Monday’s games this week, but still had offensive lineman Connor Williams. The Tennessee Titans boast three former Longhorse in reserves Quandre Diggs and defensive ends T’Vondre Sweat and Keondre Coburn.

Sweat and Diggs helped lead Tennessee’s defense in a 31-12 win over the Miami Dolphins. Diggs had four total tackles, while Sweat had six total tackles (two for loss). Coburn left with an injury and did not return to the game.
