The 11-year NBA veteran gives a heartfelt statement to LeBron James and Bronny James

The Los Angeles Lakers celebrated media day on Monday. Thanks to this, fans could see LeBron James and his son Bronny James together in a Lakers jersey for the first time.

The Lakers selected Bronny 55th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft, creating the first father-son duo in NBA history. The former USC guard struggled to start the NBA Summer League, but has improved in the last two games.

There has been a lot of discussion about the Lakers’ second-round pick, but for now the conversation has mostly turned to the father-son relationship between LeBron and Bronny.

During a recent episode of Gil’s Arena, former Memphis Grizzlies guard Gilbert Arenas shared his thoughts on the new Lakers duo.

“When you coach your kid, things will be different because you’re trying not to show favoritism,” Arenas said. “So you talk to them a little harder than you would talk to your teammates. So I understand why (LeBron) said, ‘No, call me like everyone else.’

Referring to what LeBron recently said about Bronny not calling him “daddy” on the court, Arenas said the NBA’s all-time leading scorer may be even more strict with his son than other teammates to avoid favoritism.

This is just one of several unique dynamics for the father-son duo in Los Angeles. This is something the NBA has never seen before and will certainly continue to generate interest.
