NFL: Jared Goff breaks record as Detroit Lions beat Seattle Seakhawks 42-29

For the Seahawks, Geno Smith had a career-high 395 passing yards and 38 completions in 56 attempts, along with one touchdown pass and one interception.

The Lions, playing at home at Ford Field, led 21-7 at halftime thanks to two goals by Jahmyr Gibbs and one by David Montgomery.

The Seahawks managed to get within one point of Detroit, but Goff found Jameson Williams for a 70-yard touchdown to make it 35-20 heading into the final quarter.

Kenneth Walker III went for a 21-yard touchdown to cut the deficit early in the fourth quarter, but Goff picked off Amon-Ra St. Brown in the end zone to seal the win.

Previously it was St. Brown passed to Goff on a trick play that allowed the quarterback to score his own touchdown.

The Lions remain in second place in the NFC North, behind the undefeated Minnesota Vikings. Despite the loss, the Seahawks still lead the NFC West.

The Vikings and Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, are the only teams in the NFL with a perfect 4-0 record.

In Monday’s other game, the Tennessee Titans defeated the Miami Dolphins 31-12 for their first victory of the season.

Nick Folk kicked five field goals and Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears rushed for touchdowns at Hard Rock Stadium.

Titans quarterback Will Levis was replaced by Mason Rudolph in the first quarter after he fell hard on his shoulder and did not return.

Dolphins quarterback Tyler Huntley, replacing the injured Tua Tagovailoa, scored one yard late in the game, ending a streak of 10 straight quarters without a touchdown.

The Titans remain in third place in the AFC South, ahead of the undefeated Jacksonville Jaguars. The Dolphins are in last place in the AFC East with a record of 1-3.
