Brian Callahan is committing to Will Levis as the Titans’ starting quarterback

The Tennessee Titans picked up their first win of the season against the Miami Dolphins on Monday night, even though quarterback Will Levis was sidelined in the first quarter with a shoulder injury.

Backup quarterback Mason Rudolph entered the game in place of the injured Levis and led the Titans to victory, although his performance was far from masterful.

After the game, Brian Callahan told reporters that Levis is 100% sure to return to his starting quarterback role once he’s healthy, via NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The Titans’ head coach noted that Levis suffered an AC joint injury and will undergo an MRI on Tuesday.

Tennessee has a bye week in Week 5, so Levis will have extra time to rest and recover from his shoulder injury on Monday night.

With Levis sidelined, Rudolph completed 9 of 17 passes for 85 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions as the Titans played conservative offense and focused more on their rushing attack. On Monday, Levis completed just four passes, three of which he completed and the other was intercepted by Emmanuel Ogbah.

Levis has struggled this year, leading the NFL with nine tackles for loss, including six interceptions. However, it appears that Callahan is not yet ready to hand over the keys to the offense to Rudolph.

The Titans will take the field again in Week 6 against the rival Indianapolis Colts, and that’s when Levis will hope to get back on the field.
