Boston College appoints 2024–25 leadership group

Boston College announced the name of its leadership group for the 2024-2025 season on Monday.

Eamon Powell will lead the team as captain, with Connor Joyce, Mike Posma and Ryan Leonard taking on the roles of alternate captains.

Powell, selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the fourth round of the 2020 NHL Draft, also captained the Eagles last season. Entering his fifth season with the team, Powell scored five goals and added 33 assists for 38 points in 40 games in 2023-24.

A native of Dedham, Massachusetts, Joyce is entering his senior season with the Eagles. Last season, he scored two goals and four assists in 35 games, giving him six points.

Entering his senior season with the Eagles, Posma had two goals and eight points in 41 games last year. He scored 27 points during his NCAA career.

Rounding out the group is Washington Capitals 2023 first-round draft pick Ryan Leonard. One-third of the best lineups in college hockey last season, Leonard scored 31 goals and added 29 assists for 60 points in 41 games during his freshman season.
