Watch the leaves fall from the roofs of these Asheville bars and restaurants

ASHEVILLE – The heat of summer has passed, and there is hope in the air and in the tree branches for a cool breeze and warm, vibrant colors as the season turns to fall.

Fall officially begins on September 22, and the changing landscape will bring more leaf-watching to western North Carolina.

Since last year, Asheville has seen the opening of a number of new restaurants and bars offering idyllic views, and established establishments have continued to improve their amenities and guest service.

Residents and visitors alike can climb to new heights at these local spots to view the vast, majestic fall foliage in the Blue Ridge Mountains:

Antidote at Chemist Spirits

Attached to an Asheville distillery, the Prohibition Era-style bar is full of character from the first floor to the soaring mezzanine overlooking the bar. But guests will want to climb even higher to the “hidden” door to emerge onto the speakeasy-inspired rooftop bar overlooking the South Slope. 151 Coxe Ave. antidote.bar.

Capella on 9 at AC Hotel
