Charlotte Woman Loses Thousands of Dollars After Veneer Tech Training

AND Apple pie woman claims she was a victim of dental fraud, but now she’s the one in legal trouble. She says she paid for a course to become a veneer technician, and now she’s in legal trouble with the North Carolina Board of Dental Examiners.

Veneer technicians have become popular across the country, and some of them work right here in Carolines. Dental experts say that this practice is illegal and can cause serious health problems.

Andrea Joseph has thousands of dollars worth of dental equipment collecting dust at home.

“I don’t want anyone else to lose money” said Joseph.I don’t want anyone else to give them money for something that is completely illegal. ANDand it can cause health problems.”

Joseph says come back in 2023, a man she thought was a dental assistant offered her a free set of veneers in exchange for videos he could use to promote his business on social media. She accepted and watched his business grow. He says he has started offering classes to teach people how to get veneers and make money from it.

“He makes a lot of money” said Joseph.So that’s where my interest came from and I thought, “Okay, this is something I can do.”

Joseph she says she paid $$2,500 for a two-day, six-hour class ANDtlanta to become a veneer technician. Joseph says her training also included a set with several items and consent forms.

They, they made it like they weren’t physically shaving someone’s real teeth, so you don’t need that degree. You don’t have to go to dental school for eight years.

She finished the class and received a framed certificate with the company name and the trainer’s name. Joseph says that I bought the equipment and started practitioner on customers. Sposted videos to her meinstagram and TikTok side and she says True professionals in the field of dentistry began to point fingers at her.

They were real dentists. They were dental assistants” said Joseph.It was a bunch of different people going out and making the same videos and saying this is illegal. You can really hurt people.”

Joseph she says stopped accepting customers no return on investment. Last week, a sheriff’s deputy handed her civil notice from North Carolina Board of Dental Examiners.

INwhen I started reading it, I thought it was coming from the board. This is serious, it’s not just a client,” said Joseph.This is something bigger.”

This North Carolina Bard DEntal mexaminers says there has been an increase in complaints about unlicensed dental procedures.

In a statement for WCCB Newsthis Chairman of the Board to talkSTThe Chamber actively pursues cases of unauthorized/illegal practice of dentistry when a complaint is received.

Many of these cases involve the application of veneers, as well as other procedures that require a dental license under state law.

Joseph claims she has lost thousands of dollars and her smile is not what it seems.

“Now I can’t even brush my teeth without my gums bleeding, it’s awful” said Joseph.So now I have to seek real dental help from a real dentist and pay him to fix my smile.”

We contacted the company where Joseph says she has received training in veneer technology. The owner declined to comment but said he did not work or teach at Charlot.

Joseph says she has been in contact with the dental examiner board and that they will not penalize her if she provides AND written statement that she is no longer I am installing veneers.
