LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Sunday brings more sunshine and warmer weather. Afternoon highs will reach the low 80s for most, but could reach 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Louisville. Sunday evening will be a close replica of Saturday evening. Skies remain mostly clear, with overnight lows in the low 60s.

Sunshine and warmth continue Monday with highs in the 80s. Skies remain mostly clear Monday night. It will be a few degrees cooler than previous nights with lows in the 50s and 60s.

We continue to see a developing system off the Carolinas that could become a tropical cyclone within the next 24 to 48 hours. Regardless of tropical development, this system could attempt to move west into WAVE Country by mid-week.

Any chance of showers will be greatest on Wednesday and Thursday, especially east of I-65. Otherwise, warmer weather will continue into the last week of summer with highs in the 80s to 90s.
