How to Watch Chargers vs. Panthers Online From Anywhere With a VPN

If you are unable to watch the game locally due to incorrectly applied blackout restrictionsyou may need another way to watch the game, and that’s where using a VPN can come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds on game day by encrypting your traffic, and it’s also a great idea if you’re traveling and connected to Wi-Fi and want to add an extra layer of privacy to your devices and logins.

With a VPN, you can virtually change your location on your phone, tablet, or laptop to access the game. So if your ISP or mobile carrier has placed you with an IP address that incorrectly shows your location in a blackout zone, a VPN can fix this by giving you an IP address in your correct, non-blackout area. Most VPNs, like ours Editors’ Choice, ExpressVPNmake it really easy.

Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US and Canada, as long as you have a legal subscription to the service you’re streaming. Make sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even if VPNs are legal, the streaming service can still terminate the account of anyone it believes is bypassing properly applied blackout restrictions.

How to watch Chargers vs. Panthers in the US

This week, the Chargers-Panthers game will be broadcast on CBS, so in addition to a VPN, you’ll need live tv streaming service which carries the local CBS affiliate that is broadcasting the game. The good news for football fans is that CBS is available on most major streaming services. The cheapest option is Paramount Plus.

Those looking for CBS Sunday games will be able to watch them on Paramount Plus with the monthly Essentials package for $8. You can check if there is a CBS live stream in your area here.

A number of other live TV streaming services also offer local CBS stations, including YouTube TV, Hulu Plus Live TV, DirecTV Stream, and Fubo. All cost significantly more than Paramount Plus, but they also offer a variety of live channels, including football channels like Fox and ESPN. Check out our live TV streaming services guide for more details.

If you live in an area where the game is being broadcast, an over-the-air antenna connected to your TV provides another option for CBS. The best thing about antennas is that they don’t require streaming or monthly fees, although you’ll need to make sure you have good reception.

Quick Tips for Streaming Chargers vs. Panthers with a VPN

  • Given the four variables – ISP, browser, video streaming provider, and VPN – experience and success can vary.
  • If you don’t see your desired location as a default ExpressVPN option, try using the “search for a city or country” option.
  • If you’re having trouble accessing the game after enabling your VPN and setting it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try to quickly fix it. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered to your account is in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address registered to your account. Second, some smart TVs — like Roku — don’t have VPN apps that you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you’ll need to install your VPN on the router or mobile hotspot you’re using (like your phone) so that any device on its Wi-Fi network will now be displayed in the correct viewing area.
  • All of our recommended VPN providers have helpful instructions on their home page for quickly installing a VPN on your router. In some cases, when you install the cable sports app, you’ll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on file for your Smart TV. This is where having a VPN on your router will also help, as both devices will appear to be in the correct location.
  • Keep in mind that browsers can often give away your location even if they use a VPN, so make sure you use a browser that puts privacy first to log in to its services. We usually recommend Bold.
