Police say man accused of raping and strangling woman on houseboat

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A man has been arrested for the brutal rape of a woman on his houseboat at the Four Corners Marina on Lavergne Couchville Pike, the Metro Nashville Police Department announced.

On Sunday morning, police arrested 42-year-old Tyree Watson and charged him with multiple crimes, including strangling and raping a woman.

The victim told police she was invited to a party by Watson on the waterfront Friday night. When she asked to use his restroom, Watson allegedly led her inside and closed the door, police said.

The woman testified that Watson threatened to kill her and began choking her before sexually assaulting her.

Police said the woman managed to escape when Watson fell asleep and was helped by a dock worker.

Police said Watson has been charged with aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault.

He was released on $200,000 bail.
