Man accused of raping, strangling woman on houseboat, police say

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A man was arrested for aggravated rape of a woman on his houseboat at Four Corners Marina on Lavergne Couchville Pike, the Metro Nashville Police Department said.

Police arrested 42-year-old Tyree Watson on Sunday morning and charged him with multiple felony charges after he allegedly strangled and raped a woman.

The victim told police she was invited to a party by Watson on the dock on Friday night. When she asked to use his restroom, Watson allegedly led her inside and locked the door, police said.

The woman reported that Watson threatened to kill her and began to strangle her before sexually assaulting her.

Police said the woman was able to escape when Watson fell asleep and got help from a dock worker.

Watson was charged with aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault, police said.

He was booked on a $200,000 bond.
