MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Mario Anderson ran for 125 yards and scored two touchdowns and Memphis beat Troy 38-17 on Saturday.

Seth Henigan, in his fourth season as the Tigers’ quarterback, completed 20 of 32 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown, moving him into second place in career touchdown passes at Memphis (2-0) with 82, behind Brady White (2018-20) with 91.

Anderson raced around the left side of the field for a 21-yard touchdown to give the Reds a 21-7 lead at halftime.

Henigan’s 20-yard run to the 4-yard line set up a pass to Brendan Doyle to increase the lead to 31-7 late in the third quarter.

Brandon Thomas added two short touchdowns to move into fifth place on the Tigers’ all-time scoring list with 28 points.

Goose Crowder rushed for an 11-yard touchdown to tie the score at seven early in the second quarter for the Trojans (0-2), but did not return after being hit hard and falling as he rushed for the end zone. Matthew Caldwell came in to throw for 113 yards and a score on a trick play.
