The guys start by discussing the Houston Rockets, who are loaded with young talent but want to make a quick playoff push. Do they need to make a trade? Dan is intrigued by the Indiana Pacers, who aren’t talked about as much as the other contenders in the Eastern Conference, despite playing in the Eastern Conference Finals last season.

James then picks the Memphis Grizzlies, continuing the theme of Western Conference teams that didn’t make the playoffs last season, and both men wonder what the real ceiling is for the Grizzlies now that all their players are back and healthy. Dan picks the Cavaliers, who brought everyone back and made a change at head coach to try to overcome their struggles this season.

James’ final pick is Victor Wembanyama’s San Antonio Spurs, who he believes will be transformed by the additions of Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes. Dan’s final pick is the Miami Heat, who, after a disappointing season and playoff appearance, did… little this offseason, unless you count denying Jimmy Butler a contract extension.
