Springfield fatal car crash ‘was not an accident’, says district attorney

SPRINGFIELD — Before Monday’s fatal traffic crash on Boston Road, the suspect had been in a collision earlier in the day and had received at least three separate tickets for allegedly speeding in the recent past.

During a news conference Thursday, Springfield Police Capt. Julio Toledo also said that on the morning of the fatal Boston Road crash, Nathan Colon, 18, was involved in a separate and unrelated hit-and-run that was witnessed by officers.
