Rainy and dry conditions

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The chance of showers and possibly a few thunderstorms will continue through the end of the week. Drier, calmer conditions will return over the weekend as temperatures rise next week.

THURSDAY EVENING: High temperatures today were a bit warmer than expected. Heavy cloud cover will keep conditions mild and humid today. There is a chance of scattered rain showers that will start to move north overnight. Lows will be in the low to mid 70s.

FRIDAY: Scattered rain showers throughout the day as a low pressure system rotates and moves along the Gulf Coast. It looks like the rain may try to let up before Friday’s football games start, be prepared by bringing some rain gear just in case. High temperatures should drop into the low to mid 80s. A front will move through the watch area this evening and overnight. Overnight lows will drop into the mid 60s.

WEEKEND: Friday’s cold front will make for a great weekend to get outside! Drier air will move in behind the front. This will give us clearer skies, less humidity, and cooler nighttime temperatures. Highs over the weekend will be in the mid-80s, with lows in the mid-50s to lower 60s.
