One of the questions NFL fans and pundits ask at the beginning of every season is, “Which coach will be fired first?”

At the end of last season and throughout the offseason, there was a lot of speculation that one particular coach was in a tough spot: Nick Sirianni of the Philadelphia Eagles.

His team lost five of its last six regular-season games and fell in the wild-card round of the playoffs to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and there were rumors that he had lost his locker room.

Commentator Nick Wright said if the Eagles don’t start this season well, Sirianni could be fired sooner rather than later.

“The Eagles have to start the season strong, or I think Sirianni could be fired early,” he said on “What’s Wright with Nick Wright.” “… Sirianni could definitely be fired during the season if things start going badly.”

Wright also named Dennis Allen of the New Orleans Saints, Robert Saleh of the New York Jets and Mike McCarthy of the Dallas Cowboys as other coaches who could be fired in the near future.

This time last year, some predicted the Saints would win the NFC South, but they came up just short, and now the team looks like it’s slowly declining.

The Jets have high expectations after quarterback Aaron Rodgers returned from a torn Achilles tendon, and the Cowboys, who have a history of always losing early in the playoffs, have serious holes in their roster.

However, it is the Eagles who have the most talented roster of the four and some are predicting that they will reach the Super Bowl, and maybe even win it.

If they struggle early on and fail to deliver, there is a risk that Sirianni will fall victim to that failure.
