Cool weather is expected this weekend, with a chance of showers in Metro Detroit

4Warn Weather – The summer weather will cease due to the approaching cold front.

A few scattered showers and thunder will be possible Thursday evening ahead of a cold front that will arrive from the west Friday morning. Lows will be in the lower to mid 60s. Winds will be from the southeast at 5 to 15 mph near Detroit.

Friday

Friday morning will start with scattered showers and a chance of a thunderstorm across southeastern Michigan. Bring a rain jacket and umbrella, and allow extra time for your commute. Shower activity should taper off in the afternoon.

That means the Local 4 game of the week, featuring Muskegon Mona Shores vs. River Rouge, has a good chance of being dry. In addition to the chance of precipitation, it will be mostly cloudy and cool. Highs will be in the lower 70s. Northwest winds will be blowing at 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday

Are you headed to the Big House to watch Michigan take on Texas? Cooler air will sweep across SE Michigan on Saturday. It will feel like October. A few scattered showers will be possible over the Thumb early in the morning. Then, a few more scattered showers are possible across the region in the afternoon. Highs will be in the lower to middle 60s. Overnight, temperatures will drop into the lower to middle 40s.

Sunday

We’re going “All In” for the Lions, and the weather looks to be no different. Tailgators will enjoy a mostly sunny Sunday, but there’s a chance for a few showers over the Thumb. Highs will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Skies will be partly cloudy to mostly clear overnight. Lows will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

Working week

Monday will bring warmer weather and consistent sunshine. Highs will be in the mid-70s to low-80s. Similar sky conditions will continue through at least the middle of the week, but temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-80s.
