It takes time for a rookie to adjust to the NFL. But 4.21 will always be the fastest on the field.

When the Kansas City Chiefs moved up to select quarterback Xavier Worthy in the first round of the NFL Draft, the rest of the league had to worry. Getting the player who set the 40-yard dash record into the NFL Scouting Combine with Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes was going to be a pain.

It only took one touch for Worthy to make an impression. The Chiefs gave him the ball on the end, and Worthy showed off his blazing speed, running past the Baltimore Ravens defense for a 21-yard touchdown.

Expect Worthy to shift into higher gear more often and make elite NFL athletes look slow.

There was once a Chiefs quarterback who looked faster than everyone else on the football field. Tyreek Hill watched and was impressed by Worthy’s speed.

The Chiefs saw flashes of Worthy’s playmaking ability in the preseason, and they were going to get him the ball creatively right away. His first touchdown became Worthy’s first touchdown.
