Veterans suicide prevention group offers seminars in area

A North Vernon organization will host suicide prevention seminars for veterans on Thursday.

North Vernon Vet 2 Vet will be hosting seminars tomorrow in Jackson and Jennings counties. The sessions will be hosted by the Indianapolis and Louisville VA Medical Centers. The event is open to all first responders, government officials, veterans and family members interested in veteran mental health.

The first session presented by the Louisville VA will be held in the Council Chambers at Seymore City Hall on Chestnut Street from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The second session will be held at the Jennings County Public Library on State Road 3 in North Vernon from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with participation from the Indianapolis VA.

Vet 2 Vet’s motto is “Each of Us, Reach Out, Teach Others” and its goal is to help veterans re-acclimate, rebuild connections with family and friends, and provide them with healthier lives.
