Sports Betting: NFL Season Starts Thursday, And With It, NFL Betting Returns

The NFL season and NFL betting are back.

One of the side betting options is the Anytime Try Scorer bet, which means that if a particular player scores a try at any time, the bet will pay out.

The first game of the season will take place on Thursday when the Super Bowl champions, Kansas City Chiefs, take on the Baltimore Ravens.

Here are some players who could find themselves in the scoring spot in Week 1, according to odds from online bookmaker BetMGM:

RUNNING FROM THE BACK

Joe Mixon, Houston Texans, +120

Mixon will make his debut for the Texans against the Indianapolis Colts. The former Cincinnati Bengal has 16 rushing touchdowns in the red zone since 2022, which is fifth among running backs. Meanwhile, the Colts have allowed 42 rushing touchdowns since 2022, which is third in the league.

Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints, +120

The Carolina Panthers allowed the most rushing touchdowns of any team a year ago, giving Kamara a good chance to find the end zone in this NFC South game. At +120, Kamara has the best scoring chances of any Saints player.

Aaron Jones, Minnesota Vikings, +140

Like Mixon, Jones is playing his first game as a member of a new team after coming over from the Green Bay Packers this offseason. The New York Giants have allowed the second-most rushing touchdowns in 2023, and Jones should have plenty of opportunities to carry the ball with Sam Darnold as Minnesota’s quarterback.

WIDE RECEIVER

Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins, -155

The Dolphins receiver has the fewest chances of scoring a touchdown of any player in the league. Sunday’s Miami-Jacksonville game is over/under 49, so a lot of points are expected. Hill had a monster Week 1 last year, totaling 215 receiving yards and two touchdowns against the San Diego Chargers.

Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers, +175

Watson is entering his third season in the league and, now fully healthy, is poised for a big year. He has a big game this week against the Philadelphia Eagles, who allowed wide receivers an average of 1.7 touchdowns per game a year ago — tied for the worst in the league. In addition, Packers wideouts had 27 touchdowns last year, tied for the most in the NFL.

Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills, +160

The Arizona Cardinals allowed the third-most touchdowns last year. With Stefon Diggs leaving the Bills, Josh Allen is without a true receiver, and Kincaid could become one. In the final 11 games last year, the rookie caught 72 passes to earn the quarterback’s trust.
