Publix and Winn-Dixie Announce Fall Ice Cream Flavors, Here’s the Full List

You just finished the last scoop of Marry Me Strawberry or Buckeyes & Fudge ice cream that’s been sitting in your freezer since Publix introduced eight limited-edition summer flavors in June, and suddenly another holiday eight shows up.

Publix has announced eight holiday flavors that should hit stores in September. The holiday flavors will be available year-round. Good news, because we’ve been missing the eggnog flavor since it went on sale in January.

Winn-Dixie also announced that two fall flavors of seasonal ice cream are now available in its freezers.

Fall Flavors at Publix

Here are eight specialty Publix ice creams and the year each flavor first hit the market.

▪ Egg Punch: Rich eggnog ice cream with a hint of nutmeg. We season it with even more nutmeg because you can never have enough of the spice that just screams the holiday season. The second oldest Publix ice cream recipe, Lakeland’s eggnog ice cream, was introduced in 1992.

▪ Carmel Mountain Trails: Butterscotch ice cream laced with Mackinac caramel and topped with praline pecans and milk caramel turtles. This mountain was first climbed in 2007.

▪ Marshmallow Candy Cane and Cookie Explosion: Marshmallow ice cream with candy cane pieces and chocolate cookie. Launched in 2019.

▪ Cookie: Peanut Butter Ice Cream with Cinnamon Graham Crumbs and Graham Cookie Pieces is the latest fall ice cream offering from Publix, coming in 2020.

▪ Deep apple pie: Apple flavored ice cream blended with brown sugar and cinnamon sauce, real apple slices, and sugar cookie dough. This flavor has been cool since 2010.

▪ Peppermint Stick: Vanilla ice cream with peppermint pieces. Publix’s oldest holiday ice cream debuted in 1983.

▪ Santa’s White Christmas: The famous Barnie’s Santa’s White Christmas coffee flavour with the addition of cocoa-espresso flakes was first introduced to the market in 2004.

▪ Pumpkin cake: Pumpkin pie ice cream with whipped cream and buttery cookie dough pieces. It’s hard to believe Publix didn’t do this until 2009.

Winn-Dixie Fall Flavors

Winn-Dixie’s fall ice cream is now available in stores, and the Jacksonville-based grocer is launching two specialty items under its SE Grocer’s brand.

▪ Sack ‘Em Ice Cream swirls caramel and brownie chunks into vanilla ice cream and puts some fudge flakes on the field. Got a scoop for every time the Dolphins score a touchdown this season?
