We mean, Taylor Swift will be a storyline at the next Kansas City Chiefs game.

The reigning Super Bowl champions will kick off their 2024 season with a home game against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, so The Athletic’s Jenna West, Dianna Russini and Nate Taylor report that the music star will be at the festivities to cheer on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

For NFL fans, seeing Swift at a Chiefs game will be nothing new, as she attended multiple games last season.

One of those games was Kansas City’s victory over the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl, which was all the more significant because, as The Athletic noted, she had traveled a long way from her performance in Tokyo to be there to see Kelce win his third championship.

There won’t be as much traveling this time around, as she’s on a break from touring after performing in Europe last summer. The tour will resume in North America in October.

Kelce attended several of these shows this summer and even appeared on stage in London.

When it comes to Swift’s presence at NFL games, the league has fully embraced it. In fact, she appeared five times in a 28-second video touting the start of the 2024 campaign:

The question is whether Chiefs head coach Andy Reid will take it in enough to incorporate her plays into the game plan. But it’s not for lack of trying on her part, as quarterback Patrick Mahomes told NBC Chris Simms that Swift “started drawing plays. We might have to put one up.”

“She was just so open to learning the game,” Kelce said. Rich Eisen Show (13:35) “She didn’t know much about the rules and everything. And I think what makes her so good at her job is that she’s so detailed about every aspect of it, from the lyrics to the music and even the releases and the videos and everything, she’s so detailed and part of it is that I think she was just curious about the job.”

The Ravens may have to worry not only about Reid’s offense, but also Swift’s offense.
