First Alert Forecast: A blast of autumn air

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Before we get a taste of fall, we still have some warmth to finish off the work week.

After battling persistent cloud cover for the past few days, today we’ll be treated to more consistent sunshine across the Midstate. The afternoon will be a bit warmer, with highs in the mid to late 80s, although a spot or two could even reach the 90s. I still can’t completely deny the occasional downpour, but most of us will ultimately stay dry.

Tonight the weather will once again be mild and partly cloudy with lows near 65°F.

Friday has a better chance for a few showers during the day as a front moves through the Midstate. Most of the activity still looks isolated, so not everyone will see rain. We may also hear some thunder in one or two spots, but no severe weather is expected. Temperatures Friday afternoon will mostly stay in the 80s, but we could see a few areas reach 90 degrees Fahrenheit again

WEEKEND – TASTE OF AUTUMN

This weekend will be even colder after the cold front passes, with temperatures struggling to break 70 on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday may start out cloudy, but that cloud will quickly give way to plenty of sunshine for the rest of the weekend. We can also expect clear and cool nights with lows in the 50s and maybe even the 40s in the higher elevations.

NEXT WEEK

On Monday, maximum temperatures will rise to around 27°C and the weather will be sunny.

It will get a little warmer on Tuesday, with thermometers showing over 27°C in some places, and there will be plenty of sunshine in the afternoon.

Temperatures on Wednesday will remain in the mid to late 80s, with some afternoon clouds
