Buccaneers open 2024 season with ‘For Tampa Bay’ game this Sunday

Entering his 49th season in the National Football League (NFL), Tampa Bay Buccaneers we will start everything Sunday, September 8 with a celebration of the Bay Area featuring the “For Tampa Bay” game, which will feature the team taking on the Washington Commanders, starting at 4:25 p.m. ET at Raymond James Stadium.

Before Sunday’s season opener, the team will host a “Raise the Flags” event at Sparkman Wharf on Friday, September 6th at 6:00 p.m., where fans can enjoy a live DJ and various Buccaneers games and photo opportunities to kick off the weekend. Various buildings throughout the city will be lit in Buccaneers red to celebrate the new season.

On Sunday, Bay Area residents will be honored with a variety of game day roles, including serving as Krewe Captain, which will feature athletes from every other Tampa Bay professional sports team. Brandon Hagel from Tampa Bay Lightning, Shane McClanahan from Tampa Bay Rays, Forest lasso with Tampa Bay Rowdies and Kaylan Markese The Tampa Bay Sun will kick off their pregame celebration on a pirate ship at Raymond James Stadium, with St. Petersburg’s MAYCE singing the national anthem and the University of South Florida Marching Band performing during halftime.

The event will also feature three Tampa Bay Olympians who represented the United States internationally at the 2024 Olympic Games, including sports shooter Vizzi dishesathlete Parker Valby and BMX rider Felicia Stancil.

The 2024 Tampa Bay Chef Series kicks off Sunday at Raymond James Stadium, and a local chef will be in attendance Ferrell Alvarez Dang Dude is serving up his Lemongrass Chili Chicken, available at the Hyundai Club (section 212), Stadium Club (section 237) and Level 100 (section 108). Throughout the season, the Buccaneers will have exclusive offerings at every game from Tampa Bay’s diverse culinary scene, including CENA, Willa’s, Meat Market, Donatello, Society Table, Psomi, Boulon Brasserie, The Birchwood and TEAK.

Sunday’s game will also mark the debut of The Raid, a new on-field pregame show. The Raid will showcase the next evolution of the Buccaneers experience, beginning 15 minutes prior to kickoff, including new performances by the Buc Beat Line, Bucs Cheerleaders and other game day elements.

All fans attending Sunday’s season opener will receive free Raymond James caps, while supplies last.
