Wisconsin remains outside the US LBM coaches rankings entering Week 2

The Wisconsin State Football team remained in the “receiving votes” category in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll.

After defeating Western Michigan 28-14 in its season opener on Friday, Wisconsin earned 11 votes overall — the 33rd-highest total of any team listed.

The US LBM Coaches Poll is conducted weekly throughout the college football regular season. The Badgers started the year unranked, receiving 17 total votes, good for 34th among all teams.

Topping the rankings is Georgia (No. 1), followed by Ohio State (No. 2), Texas (No. 3), Alabama (No. 4) and Ole Miss (No. 5).

Wisconsin will host South Dakota on Saturday at 2:30 PM CT, looking to improve on their Week 1 performance against Western Michigan. Although the Badgers outgained the Broncos by 127 yards, the game was fairly even for most of the evening.

The Badgers will look to find their rhythm against the Coyotes on Saturday before No. 4 Alabama comes to town on Sept. 14.
