Mat Schaffer’s paranormal play SIMON SAYS will be presented at the Larcom Theatre in October

Just in time for the Halloween season, Boston-based Mat Schaffer’s critically acclaimed play, “Simon Says,” will delight audiences with a séance, murder, and love. Directed by award-winning Myriam Cyr, the play will perform Wednesday, October 16 through Sunday, October 27 at the historic Larcom Theatre in downtown Beverly, MA. Home to the magical extravaganza Le Grand David for 35 years, Larcom is the perfect venue for this haunting spectacle.

A longtime Boston radio personality on WBCN and KISS 108, playwright Schaffer has interviewed clairvoyants, channelers, psychics, magicians, fortune tellers, spiritualists, and past-life regression experts. His research into the paranormal arts has included encounters with UPFologists, alternative historians, skeptics, and, of course, the curious.

The mystical play centers on James, a gifted young medium who discovers his extrasensory abilities by connecting with Simon, an omniscient being who offers wisdom from the afterlife. A professor, trying to scientifically prove the existence of the soul after death, teams up with James. On a stormy night, a young widow attends a séance in the hopes of connecting with her deceased husband, and a paranormal adventure suddenly begins, connecting events that took place two thousand years ago, culminating in redemption and resolution in the present.

Tickets for “Simon Says” are on sale now at the link. Opening Wednesday, October 16, there will be 13 performances through Sunday, October 27, presented by Punctuate4 Productions.
