Name: Julianne Ankley

Sound: Country, Americana, bluegrass and roots

History: Metro Detroit singer-songwriter Julianna Ankley is a prolific artist with four albums and more than a dozen Detroit Music Awards to her name. Her latest project is the music video for “The Ghost of the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse,” a fictional story about a Michigan lighthouse keeper from her album With Love from Lake Huron, which won a DMA Award for Outstanding Country Recording in 2021.

Latest: Ankley has a busy schedule this summer and fall, and can be seen Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the bandshell at Rochester Municipal Park during the Paint Creek Center for the Arts’ Art & Apples Festival, which runs all weekend. She’ll close out Friday’s lineup after performances by 2nd Street Dance Studio and the Stoney Creek Cougar Marching Band.
