2 minors rescued after boat gets stuck near hydroelectric power plant on Ohio River

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Two young people had to be rescued after a 17-foot John Boat became stuck on the “Old Dam” at a hydroelectric power plant on the Ohio River.

Louisville firefighters said the incident occurred around 7 p.m. on September 2. John’s boat and its passengers were towed back to the Harrison boat ramp.

The rescue operation lasted just over an hour and involved 18 firefighters. Authorities said the children were not injured.
