‘We made costly mistakes’: No. 10 Florida State football team loses to Boston College

The 10th-ranked Florida State Seminoles (0-2) lost 28-13 in their home opener to Boston College (1-0) on Monday night.

The Eagles put on a show, limiting the Seminoles to just one touchdown. Boston College rushed for 267 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns.

Monday was the Eagles’ first game against the Seminoles since 2017 and their first at Doak Campbell Stadium since 2008.

FSU quarterback DJ Uiagalelei completed 50 percent of his passes for 272 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Ja’Khi Douglas was FSU’s leading receiver with two catches for 44 yards.

Eagles quarterback Thomas Castellanos led his team to victory, throwing for 106 yards and scoring two touchdowns — both through the air and on the ground.

With the loss, Florida State now sits 0-2 on the season and looks to turn things around on Saturday, September 14th when they host the Memphis Tigers.
