Two men dead after shooting at Old Hickory home in Nashville

Two men died Sunday morning at separate hospitals after a shooting at a house party in Old Hickory, the latest in a series of deadly shootings in Nashville over the Labor Day weekend.

The Metro Nashville Police Department is investigating a 4 a.m. shooting at a home on Fields Drive, but investigators said Sunday they believe one of the men killed fatally shot the other man.

Officers identified one of the men as 41-year-old Steven Gutierrez, who witnesses said pushed a 19-year-old man at the party, prompting a verbal argument.

Police have not released the identity of the 19-year-old who reportedly fired multiple shots at Gutierrez before fleeing the scene.

Gutierrez died at Skyline Medical Center, and the teen was later taken to Summitt Medical Center and died from a single gunshot wound. Police are still investigating who shot the teen, according to the release.

The Fields Drive shooting is the latest in a string of shootings in the Nashville area over the Labor Day weekend.

On Saturday night, 16-year-old Zeppelin Phillips was fatally shot. Police arrested Raphael Jobehdari, 18, in connection with the incident, and officials said Phillips had discussed buying a gun from Jobehdari before the shooting.

Two people were seriously injured in a shooting on Lower Broadway that appeared to have started as a result of a road rage incident when a car tried to drive into a group of people on 2nd Avenue South shortly before midnight Saturday.

A 37-year-old man was killed Sunday morning during an attempted robbery in Patricia Heights, a neighborhood near BNA International Airport.
