Three-Year-Old Duke Basketball Center Expresses Gratitude to Brotherhood

It’s unclear where Marques Bolden will be playing next season. But last weekend, it seemed like the Duke basketball alum’s sole purpose was to meet up with other members of The Brotherhood in Durham.

Bolden, a center from 2016-19 under now-retired Duke basketball legend Mike Krzyzewski and one of several former Blue Devils players on campus for Pro Devils Weekend, commented on the strength of The Brotherhood in the following video from the K Center:

“It feels amazing to be back at Duke,” Bolden says in the clip. “You know, The Brotherhood is strong and it lives forever. And I’m happy to be a part of it.

“Coming back, seeing the exciting group we have this year — and especially with all the exciting alumni, professional players we have — it was great just to see everybody working, to get everybody together this weekend.”

Last season, Marques Bolden played in the NBA for the first time since the 2020-21 season. He began the campaign on a two-way contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, was waived in January after appearing in just two games, signed a 10-day contract with the Charlotte Hornets in February that became a two-way contract in March and played in nine more outings, even making his first league start.

Despite this, in early July the Hornets released the 26-year-old former center, who was not drafted by the team.

However, a few days later, Bolden joined the Golden State Warriors for the Summer League and put in some promising performances.
