Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. Celebrate 22nd Wedding Anniversary with Sweet Photo

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. celebrate their 22nd wedding anniversary.

On Sunday, the couple posted a joint Instagram post in which they shared a photo of Prinze affectionately cuddling Gellar from behind while smiling for the camera.

“22 @realfreddieprinze 🥂💍👰🏼” – the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” actress wrote in the caption.

Gellar and Prinze first met while working on the 1997 film I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Prinze told Entertainment Tonight in 2022 that it wasn’t until three years after they first worked together that he realized she was the one.

“She didn’t have a license, so I was her chauffeur, driving her to the gym every day, then going to the store, buying lunch, and driving her back. The trip took an hour,” he continued.

“We shot (‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’) in this little crazy town called (Southport, N.C.),” he added. “I drive her to Wilmington, N.C., every day we have off, every day during rehearsal, and we have, you know, 55 minutes — if I’m driving the speed limit — to get to know each other. She was from New York and I’m a Southern California kid, so we were like night and day, and our philosophies of life just never meshed.”

He added: “And then one day it all clicked, and it was probably three years later, and we started dating, and she’s been my girlfriend ever since.”

The couple married on September 1, 2002, and had two children: 14-year-old daughter Charlotte and 11-year-old son Rocky.

Gellar recently celebrated her children’s first day back to school with an Instagram post announcing the event on August 27.

“Parents… Who’s getting me today?!?” she wrote alongside a video of herself dancing while holding “back to school” signs for Charlotte and Rocky, who were starting high school and middle school.

She added: “But also… How am I supposed to have a high school student and a middle school student?!? Time is b—-. #backtoschool.”
