Police say MNPD patrol car was hit by suspicious driver

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, a Metro Nashville Police cruiser was struck from behind by a driver suspected of driving under the influence.

The incident occurred Saturday evening on Interstate 40 east near Briley Parkway.

MNPD police said the officer was investigating a crash on Interstate 40 involving another suspected driver who was under the influence of alcohol when the patrol car was struck.

No serious injuries were reported. Police said two people were arrested for drunk driving.
