“I came in execution style,” Javier Nieves said. “I come in, I get my hair cut and all of a sudden boom boom boom.”

Nieves heard shots and said he saw a man running across the street.

“He was wearing a black hoodie and had glasses on to hide himself,” he explained.

The murdered person’s grandfather stated that his grandson was hanging out with the wrong crowd.

He added that he expressed his concerns to his grandson’s mother on Sunday.

“I told her I didn’t want her son to end up on the streets,” Renier Thompson said.

Police are now reviewing surveillance footage and speaking to witnesses to try to locate the suspect.

“We do not believe this was an accident,” said Deputy Chief Paul McLaughlin.

The Boston Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in this investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470 or the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1-800-494-TIPS.
